Immediate Relief for the Families of Shaheed Police Officers
 

 

General:

The National Police Foundation provides one time financial assistance to the families of those police officers who lay down their lives while on duty. The spirit behind this scheme is to provide immediate relief to the families of Shaheed Police Officers.

 

Procedure:

These cases are required to be recommended/ forwarded by the respective DPO/ Superintendent of Police on a prescribed Performa to reach this office through range DIG/ CCPO/ PPO of respective province. The amount is remitted through the recommending officer.

 

Eligibility:

For the purpose of this scheme, widows/ heirs of those police officers are eligible for grant who lay down their lives in the line of duty, i.e.

 

 

i.

An encounter

 

 

 

 

ii.

Investigation

 

 

 

 

iii.

Arrest of PO’s

 

 

 

 

iv.

Road accident on or off duty or

 

 

 

 

v.

Targeted by terrorists

 

 

 

Amount:

Under this scheme the amount provided is Rs. 25,000/- only.

Note:Cases of natural death, personal enmity, etc. are not covered under this scheme.


2.

Monthly Stipends to Police Widows
 

 

General:

Primarily the welfare of the police officer’s widows/ families is the responsibility of the respective district or provincial Police under which the police officer has been serving and contributing towards the welfare fund. However, the National Police Foundation, in spite of its limited resources, does supplement the assistance provided in all deserving cases.

 

Procedure:

The cases are received on prescribed forms available from the offices of the National Police Foundation, Islamabad/ Lahore and the CPO’s of all the provinces.

 

Eligibility:

For the purposes of this stipend eligibility is determined on the bases of the following factors:-

 

 

i.

Pension the widow is drawing

 

 

ii.

Size of the family and age of the children

 

 

iii.

Number of earning members and their income

 

 

iii.

Property the widow holds

 

 

v.

Other sources of income including stipend, if any, widow is getting from the department or any other agency.

 

Amount:

Amount: the amount of stipend is Rs. 1000/- p.m. only.


3.

Grant of Sewing Machines to Widows
 

 

General:

To enable the widows of beneficiaries and the families of low paid staff to earn their livelihood more honorably, the National Police Foundation provides sewing machines to them.

 

Procedure:

A duly verified and recommended application along with relevant documents is required which will be sent by the concerned DPO/ SP/ CCPO through respective range DIG/ CPO/ PPO.

 

Eligibility:

These cases are entertained keeping in view the following factors: -

 

 

i.

Amount of pension she is getting.

 

 

ii.

Total family members with age/ occupation.

 

 

iii.

Number of earning members and their income.

 

 

iii.

Property she holds.

 

 

v.

Other sources of income/ financial help provided by the parent department.

 

 

vi.

Ability to handle a sewing machine or otherwise.


4.

Financial Assistance for dowry
 

 

General:

The NPF provides financial assistance for dowry to the daughters of Inspectors and below, serving and retired, and their widows.

 

Procedure:

The applications along with copy of Nikahnama, Registration Form and a copy of CNIC duly recommended by DPO/ SP/ CCPO/ DIG/ PPO be forwarded to the NPF for consideration for dowry.

 

Eligibility:

Applicants will be eligible for this assistance only after marriages of their daughters. Cases pertaining to ongoing financial year only shall be entertained.

 

Amount:

Ranges between Rs. 5000/- to Rs. 25000/-on cases to cases basis.


5.

One Time Grant
 

 

General:

The purpose of this grant is to assist retired/ serving beneficiaries and their widows who have very few liabilities.

 

Procedure:

A duly verified/ recommended application along with relevant documents by the concerned DPO/ CCPO/ SP is required for consideration by NPF for the above grant.

 

Eligibility:

These cases will be entertained keeping in view the following factors:-

 

 

i.

Size of the family.

 

 

ii.

Sources of income.

 

 

iii.

Liabilities.

 

 

iii.

Circumstances under which the applicant has applied for assistance.

 

Amount:

The amount of grant may vary, on a case-to-case basis, from Rs.3000-to10,000/- only.


6.

Natural Calamities like Floods, Earthquakes, etc
 

 

General:

National Police Foundation provides financial assistance to beneficiaries who are hit by natural calamities like floods, earthquakes, etc. Respective PPOs should refer cases requiring financial assistance after ascertaining the factual position concerning the affected beneficiaries.

 

Procedure:

These cases are required to be recommended/ forwarded by the respective DPO/ SP/ CCPO to reach this office along with complete relevant record, through respective DIG Range/ PPO.

 

Amount:

Will vary according to damage/ claim of the affectee.
