Medical Assistance
1.
Provision of Artificial Limbs, Wheel Chairs, Walkers, Crutches, Hearing Aids to Handicapped Beneficiaries and their Dependents
General:
National Police Foundation arranges to supply free of cost artificial limbs, walking aids like Braces, Callipers, Walkers and Crutches etc. to its beneficiaries or their dependents.
Procedure:
These cases are forwarded to this office with the recommendation of concerned doctor and the verification of the DPO concerned through respective DIG Range/ CPO.
Eligibility:
These cases are entertained keeping in viewing the following: -
i.
The financial status of the beneficiaries.
ii.
Their liabilities.
iii.
The circumstances under which the injury/ damage was sustained.
2.
Stipend for Handicapped/ Disabled Police Personnel
General:
The purpose of this scheme is to supplement the financial assistance already extended to handicapped/ disabled beneficiaries by the respective police departments.
Procedure:
These cases are to be forwarded to this office with the relevant record of the medical board by the respective DPOs through DIsG Range/ CPOs.
Eligibility:
Police officers who have become handicapped/ disabled during discharge of their official duties and have been retired from service on the recommendation of the medical board.
Amount:
The monthly stipend under this head ranges from Rs. 600/- to Rs. 800/-, which is reviewed from time to time.
3.
Stipend for Special Children
General:
National Police Foundation also provides stipends to handicapped/ disabled children of beneficiaries.
Procedure:
These cases are to be forwarded duly recommended by the DPO/ SP alongwith the relevant medical record of child’s physical disability.
Eligibility:
Special children who are unable to do any mental or physical work to earn their livelihood are eligible for this stipend.
Amount:
Amount of Stipend is Rs.500/- p.m.
4.
Medical Assistance in Special Cases
General:
The National Police Foundation also provides medical assistance for the treatment of beneficiaries, mainly the retired police officers and their dependents in very special and distressed cases.
Procedure:
These cases should be recommended and forwarded by respective DPO’s/ SP’s to reach this office along with relevant medical record, through respective DIsG Range/ CPO‘s.
Eligibility:
Under this scheme only those cases are accepted which are not covered under existing rules.
Amount:
Amount may vary depending on ailment and expenditure incurred by the beneficiary etc.
